Random Knitting Project - Flowers
Why do we try to imitate something that can never be improved on? We give it stylized shape and color, we try to reduce it to a number of sticthes of brushstrokes... And in the end each of them still looks different, no matter how much you try to repeat the pattern in exactly the same way. Maybe it is the nature of a flower shape, maybe I am just a sloppy knitter!

I think the organic quality of knitting really lends itself to the natural world that way. Those flowers are beautiful!

Do you know Helle Jorgensen's work? She crochets sea creatures and coral, and it's just gorgeous.

OMG those are *beautiful*! I love the simple palette---I love color but often end up making things way too complicated because of that. Yours are like classic porcelain. I think we try to replicate the natural world because we just can't get enough of it---it's very connecting to make your own nature.
